Our Veterinarians

Dr Alistair Newbould
BVM&S, MVM MANZCVS (Small Animal Radiology)
Veterinarian
Alistair is a graduate of Edinburgh University Veterinary School, emigrating to New Zealand in 1985. He is the practice founder and principal. His clinical interests include imaging (radiography and ultrasound), cardiology and surgery. Outside of work two of his main passions are motorcycling and skiing. It is with very great pleasure we announce that Alistair has successfully passed the required membership examinations (written, oral and practical) to gain membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Radiology. He has prepared and studied for these rigorous examinations in addition to his normal long working hours. We are all very proud of his achievements.

Dr Michelle Mills
BVSc MVM
Veterinarian
Michelle joined the veterinary team in 2009 following her graduation from Massey University. She is a friendly, thorough, client-focused practitioner. She has proven to be a great asset to the team and has quickly become a firm favourite with many clients and their pets. Michelle recently completed her Masters of Veterinary Medicine and clinically has a particular interest in dermatology, internal medicine and canine behaviour. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys playing the piano, attempting pilates and exploring the beautiful local beaches with her husband, Lucas, and golden retriever, Lily.

Yasmin Ford
Veterinarian
Yasmin graduated from the University of Nottingham England in 2019 and moved straight to Dunedin from the UK to join us at Humanimals. Currently she is exploring her interests as she starts her veterinary career. Outside of work Yasmin enjoys hiking and baking. She has jointed one of our other nurses at cross fit training – balancing this off with her great first attempt at Rocky Road cakes. We can all attest to their deliciousness. We are delighted to have Yasmin join us and she has fitted in so well already, please make her feel welcome.
